OAKWOOD — Oakwood police are investigating a scam that cost an elderly resident $2,500 after he thought he was wiring money to aid his grandson, who was allegedly stranded in Mexico City .According to police reports, the 84-year-old Oakwood resident was contacted by phone around July 11 by a person claiming to be the man’s grandson, Daniel.
